Urgent items for prayer:
- David Bailey (Staunton) has requested prayer for Brother Leonard Ketcherside, retired elder on the district. Brother Ketcherside is in ICU at University of Virginia hospital in Charlottesville with a number of complicating factors and health issues. The doctor's most recent conference with the family was not very encouraging. Of course perspective changes when we talk with doctor Jesus. Please lift the Ketchersides in your prayers. We'll keep you posted on developments.
- Please pray for our Hispanic Family Camp. Nearly 300 persons are in attendance. Great spirit. Good things are happening.
- Pray for Victor Philip Jr, son of Victor and Maggie Philip (Norfolk Calvary) as he is on a tour of duty in Iraq. Victor and Maggie have requested that we pray for God's protection and blessing on his life.
- Rev. Linwood Johnson, retired elder and father of Mary Lewis (Hampton Saunders Road), is in Maryview Hospital with a heart arrhythmia and may require a pacemaker.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Dear District Family,
Rev. Leonard Ketcherside passed away on Tuesday, September 4. Rev. Ketcherside was 89 years old and had pastored Nazarene Churches in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and on the Virginia District, Harrisonburg and Highland Springs. In addition, he served in long term supply positions at Buckingham and Staunton and served in a staff position at Charlottesville First. At the time of his death, Rev. Ketcherside served on staff with David Bailey at Staunton.
A service celebrating his life and ministry will take place on Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 at the Staunton Church of the Nazarene. Viewing and family visitation will be on Friday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Henry's Funeral Home, just down the street from the Staunton Church.
Our prayers are with Rev. Ketcherside's wife, Mrs. Verna Ketcherside, and their family.
